BMX rider crashes out of world championship

Pukekohe teenager Trent Woodcock crashed going into the last corner at the UCI BMX World Championships in Adelaide, his hopes of a world title crashing with him.

Woodcock came off within sight of the finish line in the final of the 16 years boys content after dominating the competition, winning all his qualifying motos and his semifinal.

He also injured his knee in the fall.

Rotorua's David Mohi won a bronze medal in the men's 30 years and over championship, finishing in the top three in all qualifying motos and third in both the semifinal and final.

Tomorrow afternoon sees the BMX World Championships for junior men and women and elite men and women.
