Rafael Nadal is another step closer to regaining the number one ranking in men's tennis, a position he last held in July 2011.
Nadal is through to the quarter-finals of the China Open, although it took him just under two hours to beat the German Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-4 7-6, and he'll be world number one again if he makes the final.
The Spaniard would swap places with Novak Djokovic, regardless of how far the Serb goes in Beijing.
