Advantage NZ on day one in Chittagong

6:10 am on 10 October 2013

A Kane Williamson century gave the New Zealand cricketers the edge on the opening day of the first test against Bangladesh in Chittagong, though the home side hitback in the final session.

Williamson made 114 in the Black Caps' 280 for 5, but the hosts did well to pick up three wickets in the final session, after New Zealand had been coasting on 244 for 2.

Williamson was dismissed LBW in the second-to-last over of the day, and Brendon McCullum went for 21 off the last ball of the day.

Earlier opener Peter Fulton had scored 73.
