The veteran New Zealand Holden driver Greg Murphy has been a popular subject on Mount Panorama this week in the buildup to Sunday's Bathurst 1000.
10 years after underlining his V8 greatness by setting his pole-winning time with a scorching two minutes 6.85 seconds, still the fastest qualifying time ever, Murphy and his co-driver James Courtney are being talked up among the race favourites.
41-year-old Murphy, a four-time Bathurst winner, and his co-driver finished fifth in the recent Bathurst warmup at the Sandown 500, despite two unscheduled pit stops to remove loose bodywork.
