The Silver Ferns coach Waimarama Taumaunu is ruing a bad last couple of minutes as her side let a lead slip and were beaten 50-49 in the 5th and final Constellation Cup netball Test in Canberra.
The New Zealanders led 26-23 at half time and were ahead in the final minutes but couldn't hold off the home team's late surge.
Taumaunu says late turnovers and a number of penalties were costly and they let themselves down in the last 90 seconds.
Australia takes the series 4-1 and will take confidence ahead of next year's Commonwealth Games.
