The three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Dario Franchitti has had ankle surgery, after suffering multiple injuries in a crash in Houston last week.
Franchitti, suffered a fractured ankle, concussion and fractured vertebra when his car became airborne crashed into the course fence injuring several spectators.
