Rising tennis star Monica Puig has been confirmed to play in the ASB Classic tournament in Auckland in January.
The 20-year-old Cuban's had a breakthrough year, reaching the third round at the French Open before making the last 16 at Wimbledon, eventually losing to American Sloane Stephens.
It will be Puig's first appearance in Auckland. She joins Serbian star Ana Ivanovic and Britain's Heather Robson as the players to be announced so far.
