Dixon dismisses legend status

Indycar champion Scott Dixon is dismissing suggestions that he is now New Zealand's greatest ever motor racing driver.

Dixon picked up a third title in California on Sunday, adding to his successes in 2003 and 2008.

The French sports publication L'Equipe wrote that Dixon's latest victory would take the 33-year-old ahead of the likes of Denny Hulme and Bruce McLaren as New Zealand's most successful driver.

Dixon isn't so sure about a new status, he says they all know what Hulme and McLaren have done and he wouldn't be where he is without them.
