The Wanganui flanker Peter Rowe will captain a Heartland fifteen for two rugby matches next month.
The squad features ten debutants.
Seven players will take the field this weekend in the Mead Cup final between North Otago and Mid Canterbury and another five in the Lochore Cup final between South Canterbury and Buller.
The Heartland fifteen will play New Zealand Defence Force in Methven on November 5th and New Zealand Marist in Timaru 4 days later.
