Aust-India 4th ODI washed out

7:19 am on 24 October 2013

Rain washed out Australia's fourth one-day cricket international against India in Ranchi, thwarting brilliant innings by George Bailey and Glenn Maxwell.

Bailey made India pay for a dropped catch off the first ball he faced as he and Maxwell got into the 90s, steering their side to a total of 295 for 8, but a heavy downpour ended the match only 8 overs into India's run chase.

The result means Australia retain a 2-1 series lead, but ends any hope of them being world No.1 by the end of the seven games.
