Jesse Ryder's marked his return to cricket with a century for his new team Otago - one of three tons hit by the Volts as they declared their first innings against Wellington at 534 for nine, in the opening match of the Plunket Shield.
Ryder made 117 batting at number four against his old side for the first time at the Basin Reserve - Wellington will resume day three on 217 for two.
Opener Aaron Redmond's 154 and Michael Bracewell's 107 helped the Volts to the commanding lead of 317 runs.
