The Geraldine rally driver Hayden Paddon is in 9th place after the first day of the Rally of Spain , his first drive in a WRC car.
Paddon admits he's still getting use to the Ford, after he was invited to drive one of the top cars for the Qatar M-Sport World Rally Team.
The 3 stages on the opening day were run at night on tarmac.
Entering day two Paddon is 69 seconds behind leader Sébastien Ogier in a Volkswagen.
Day two is run on tarmac and day three on gravel.
