The Silver Ferns have beaten Malawi 68-49 in Napier to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-test netball series.
But Malawi are bound to be happy with their record points haul against New Zealand - and the Africans halved their losing margin from 38 points in the first test to 19.
The final test is in Hamilton on Thursday.
