The sacked Wallabies rugby star James O'Connor is expected to officially join the English rugby union club London Irish later today on a short-term contract.
O'Connor's contract with the Australian Rugby Union was terminated for disciplinary reasons, and the Wallabies coach Ewen MvcKenzie says the 23-year-old utility back would have to return to Super Rugby next year if he wanted to regain his place in the test side.
O'Connor says he's looking forward to an immediate return to international rugby rather than waiting for next year.
