Four possible All Black debutants to play against Japan

The Blues winger Frank Halai and Canterbury lock Dominic Bird have been named to make their All Blacks debuts against Japan in Tokyo on Saturday.

The Wellington prop Jeffery Toomaga-Allen and Canterbury loose forward Luke Whitelock could also make their debuts off the bench.

Captain Richie McCaw will start at number eight, allowing Sam Cane to play at openside flank.

Halfback Tawera Kerr-Barlow gets his first start, while Dan Carter returns from his shoulder injury, Francis Saili and Ben Smith are in the centres with Charles Piatau on the wing and Beauden Barrett at fullback.

The team is Wyatt Crockett, Dane Coles, Ben Franks, Jeremy Thrush, Dominic Bird, Steven Luatua, Sam Cane, Richie McCaw, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Daniel Carter, Frank Halai, Francis Saili, Ben Smith, Charles Piutau and Beauden Barrett.

Reserves: Andrew Hore, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Charlie Faumuina, Brodie Retallick, Luke Whitelock, Aaron Smith, Tom Taylor and Ryan Crotty.
