Kearney giving everyone a run at World Cup

The Kiwis coach Stephen Kearney is giving those players not involved in their first match against Samoa, a run in their second Rugby League World Cup game against France in Avignon on Saturday morning.

The exception is halfback Thomas Leuluai who is still struggling with a groin complaint.

Kearney says the idea right from the start of the tournament was to give everyone an opportunity to stake a claim for a position and that hasn't changed because of the performance against Samoa on Monday.

The team is Kevin Locke, Jason Nightingale, Bryson Goodwin, Krisnan Inu, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Kieran Foran, Shaun Johnson, Ben Matulino, Issac Luke, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Frank Pritchard, Alex Glenn and Simon Mannering.

The reserves are Elijah Taylor, Sam Kasiano, Frank-Paul Nu'uausala, Greg Eastwood, Jesse Bromwich and josh Hoffman.

The Kiwis beat Samoa 42-24 in their opening match while France beat Papua New Guinea 9-8.
