The veteran pace bowler Kyle Mills is to captain the New Zealand cricket team for their tour of Sri Lanka.
Batsman Kane Williamson was to lead the side in the absence of Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor, but Williamson fractured his thumb in the opening one dayer against Bangladesh and has returned home.
Mills, who's played 153 one day internationals, will lead the side for the first time with the Black Caps playing three one dayers and two Twenty20 games in Sri Lanka.
The Canterbury batsman Rob Nichol will also join the side in Sri Lanka replacing Williamson, along with his provincial teamate Andrew Ellis who replaces Otago's Ian Butler who has a back injury.
On Sunday the Black Caps play their third and final one dayer in Bangladesh but the series is already lost having been beaten in the first two matches.
They also have a T20 game in Dhaka on Wednesday.
