The favourite Fiorente has roared home to win the 153rd edition of racing's Melbourne Cup.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained Fiorente came from behind to pip Red Cadeaux and Mount Athos to the treasured Cup.
Fiorente was among the best supported southern hemisphere runners in a field dominated by Northern hemisphere stayers.
It's Waterhouse's first Melbourne Cup win while it's her controversial jockey Damien Oliver's third Cup triumph - 18 years after his first.
It's also two months since he returned to racing after serving a ban for betting on a rival horse, in a race he was riding in back in 2010.
