South Africa's cricket captain Graeme Smith has withdrawn from the rest of his team's one day series against Pakistan in the Middle East.

Smith is suffering from delayed concussion after he was struck on the head by a bouncer delivered by the Pakistani pace bowler Mohammad Irfan.

The 32-year-old managed to play in the first two matches of the one-day series, but withdrew from Wednesday's match complaining of blurred vision, dizziness, and difficulty focusing.

Smith has been advised to rest for at least two weeks.
