Sri Lankan conditions suit Black Caps says Mills

9:33 pm on 10 November 2013

The stand-in captain of the New Zealand cricket team Kyle Mills says the conditions in Hambantota should suit the Black Caps in tonight's opening match of the tour of Sri Lanka.

The first two of three one day games will be played at the south coast stadium where Mills recalls New Zealand playing well last year depite losing that series 3-0.

Mills says there's pace in the Hambantota wicket where the ball can swing, seam and bounce like in New Zealand.

In 2012, the Black Caps had Sri Lanka on the ropes in Hambantota at 123 for 8 before the match was abandoned due to train.

Tonight's match starts at 10 o'clock.
