Coach Steve Hansen says New Zealand was pushed to the limit by France in the All Blacks' narrow 26-19 win in Paris on Sunday morning.
Charles Piutau and Kieran Reid scored in the two tries to one victory, after the half time score was locked at nine-all.
Hansen says the French played particularly well testing the All Blacks strength and mental resolve.
He says New Zealand had to fight hard for the victory.
