Bruised England cricketers sent back to Counties

7:42 am on 12 August 2009

Five of England's bruised Ashes cricket squad have been sent back to their counties in an attempt to find some form before next week's decisive fifth test against Australia in London.

Batsmen Alastair Cook, Ravi Bopara, Ian Bell, and bowlers Graeme Swann and Graham Onions will all turn out for their counties in four day matches this week after England were dealt a crushing fourth test loss in less than three days at Headingley in Leeds.

Middle order batsmen Bopara, Bell and Paul Collingwood managed just 16 runs between them in six innings in Leeds, and there's even been talk of a recall for Mark Ramprakash whose been in the form of his life in the English county championship, but hasn't played test cricket for seven years.
