Kookaburras squad named

The Australian men's hockey coach Ric Charlesworth has announced an 18-man squad to take on New Zealand and Samoa in a World Cup qualifying tournament in Invercargil later this month.

Australia must finish on top in the tri-series to gain direct access to the World Cup in New Delhi, India next year.

Veteran Brent Livermore heads an experienced Kookaburras squad which has an average of 93 games per player.

Livermore, with 306 caps, is closing in on Jay Stacy's record of 319 games as the most capped Kookaburra.
