England will play defending champions New Zealand in the semi-finals of the Rugby League World Cup after beating France 34-6 in Wigan.

The French took a surprise lead at Wigan's DW Stadium thanks to a converted Vincent Duport try.

But the home side hit back with six tries, wingers Josh Charnley and Ryan Hall getting a brace apiece, with loose forward Sean O'Loughlin and Brett Ferres also grabbing a try each.

England will play New Zealand next Sunday in the first semi-final of a Wembley Stadium double header, the second semi featuring nine-time champions Australia against the winners of Monday's quarter-final between Fiji and Samoa at Warrington.
