11:56 am on 17 November 2013

Sri Lanka has beaten New Zealand by 36 runs in the third one-day international at Dambullah.

The result ties the three match series at 1-1 after the first match was abandoned due to rain.

Rain shortened the third match to 33 overs each side before the Black Caps' innings was cut to 25 overs due to bad light.

Batting first, Sri Lanka reached 211 for 8 with Tillakaratne Dilshan top scoring with 53.

New Zealand pace bowler Mitchell McClenaghan took two wickets for 34 runs off seven overs.

In reply, the Black Caps top five batsmen could only manage 19 runs between them before all rounders Jimmy Neesham and Nathan McCullum hit 42 and 35 respectively.

The pair was unbeaten when bad light stopped play with New Zealand on 126 for 6, 36 runs short of the Duckworth Lewis amended target.

Rangana Herath was the best of Sri Lanka's bowlers taking 3 for 25 off 6 overs.
