Black Caps fined for slow over rate

The New Zealand cricketers have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during the third and final one dayer against Sri Lanka in Dambulla on Saturday night.

The Black Caps were ruled to have been one over short of its target, after time allowances were taken into consideration.

As a penalty players are fined 10 percent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.

The two sides now meet in two T20 matches, the first on Wednesday morning.
