Mexico sticks with same side for return match

5:41 am on 20 November 2013

The Mexican football coach Miguel Herrera has kept faith with the team that hammered the All Whites in the first leg of their World Cup qualifier last week for the second match in Wellington tonight.

Mexico beat the All Whites 5-1 at the Azteca last week and the home side have to win the return leg by at least 4-nil to qualify for their second successive finals.

Herrera, who selected only locally-based players for the intercontinental playoff, says he'll stick with the same team but isn't prepared to allow his side to sit back and defend.

Meanwhile All Whites coach Ricki Herbert, who has announced he'll stand down after they're eliminated, will confirm his side this morning.
