Three former test cricket captains are confirmed as celebrity golfers for the New Zealand Open Championship in 2014.

Australians Ricky Ponting and Allan Border along with New Zealand's Stephen Fleming are among the sport stars to confirm their place at the tournament.

Ponting has beaten his good friend, three-time PGA Tour winner Aaron Baddeley over 18 holes, and plays off an impressive +1 handicap.

He boasts a career-low round of 66.

Border is an ambassador at the Brookwater Golf Club in Brisbane and a member at The Australian Golf Club in Sydney.

Fleming plays every Wednesday off a nine handicap with a group of old cricket mates including Nathan Astle, whose handicap is +3.

The tournament runs between February 27 and March 3 at the Hills and Millbrook in Queenstown.
