Danish veteran conquers Royal Melbourne

Danish golfer Thomas Bjorn conquered the famed Royal Melbourne course with a round of 66 to take a share of the individual honours on day one of the World Cup.

42-year-old Bjorn shares the individual lead with the American Kevin Streelman, while the golfer of the moment, Australia's Masters champion Adam Scott had to settle for a 75 which included a 9 on a par-4.

The New Zealand pair Michael Hendry and Tim Wilkinson are towards the tail of the 60-man field after rounds of 75 and 79 respectively.

The United States pair Kevin Streelman and Matt Kuchar lead the teams event by three strokes.
