The World number one Dinara Safina stormed into her eighth final of the year with a 6-2 6-0 demolition of Italian Flavia Pennetta at the Cincinnati Open.
The Russian was at her powerful best as she romped to victory in 56 minutes, setting up a final against fourth seed Elena Dementieva of Russia or Serbian fifth seed Jelena Jankovic.
Pennetta had won 15 consecutive matches going into their semi-final but she looked a little jaded and Safina was relentless as she hammered winner after winner.
The Russian broke in the second game and never looked back, reeling off seven straight games to clinch a comprehensive victory.
