Former NHL players file lawsuit over concussions

Ten former ice hockey players have filed a class action lawsuit in Washington against the NHL, claiming the league didn't enough to prevent concussions.

The lawsuit comes less than three months after the NFL paid $930 million to settle a lawsuit brought by thousands of former players, many suffering from dementia and health problems.

The hockey players point out in their claim that the NHL has refused to ban fighting while teams often include enforcers whose main function is to fight.

In a statement the NHL says it's aware of the lawsuit and has done its part to keep players safe.
