The All Black number eight Kieran Read has completed the treble of awards.

Read has been been paid a double compliment by his fellow professionals, winning the International Rugby Players Association's first Player of the Year award, as well as a place in the players' World XV of the Year.

Earlier this week Read was named the IRB's outstanding player of the year and last night he won New Zealand's top award.

The other New Zealanders to make the World XV of the year are lock Sam Whitelock, blindside flanker Liam Messam, halves Aaron Smith and Aaron Cruden, centre Conrad Smith and wing Ben Smith.
