Ponting confident of an Ashes series win

10:09 am on 20 August 2009

Australia Cricket captain Ricky Ponting says his team is perfectly poised to retain the Ashes as they prepare for their final match against England which starts at The Oval tonight.

The series stands at 1-all and will be English all-rounder Andrew Flintoff's last match before he retires from test cricket.

Ponting says although Flintoff's inclusion will lift the England squad, Australia's good form in the fourth test could be the deciding factor against a changeable English side...

England last held the Ashes trophey in 2005, winning the final match to take the series 2-1.
