Breakers fall short in Perth

1:20 pm on 8 December 2013

A late charge from the Breakers was not enough to secure a comeback win against National Basketball League leaders the Wildcats in Perth.

The three-time defending champions eventually fell 95-91 after having trailed by as many as 16 late in the third quarter.

They were able to close the gap to a single point in the final two minutes, but Perth hung on to close out the win.

The Breakers were torched by Perth's imports as James Ennis finished with a game-high 31 points and Jermaine Beal had 30.

Gary Wilkinson led the Breakers with 19 points.

The loss takes the Breakers' record to four wins and seven losses for the season, while Perth extend their lead at the top of the standings with an 11-1 record.
