The first day of the Portimao MedCup regatta in Portugal has been a mixed one for Team
New Zealand.
After NZL380 finished second and third n the opening races it dropped from first to sixth in the last race when the wind picked up away from their side of the course.
NZL380 finished the day equal third the Portugal Cup leader board, behind the regatta leader Quantum Racing and Artemis but still added 11 points to its overall points lead.
Skipper Dean Barker says losing five places on a run is big . and in the conditions there was little they could do about it.
