South Africa win home sevens tournament

South Africa has won the Port Elizabeth round of the IRB rugby sevens series after beating New Zealand 17-14 in the final.

New Zealand led 14-nil early in the first half, but a sin-binning turned the game around and they were unable to gain possession or territory for the rest of the match.

The South African captain Kyle Brown says it was great to win for the Republic after a tough few days following the death of Nelson Mandela.

New Zealand still lead the series by 2 points from South Africa with Fiji third.

The 4th round is in Las Vegas at the end of January.
