Taylor, Williamson battle back for New Zealand

New Zealand have battled back after a rough start to be 79 for two at lunch on the first day of the second cricket test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.

After losing the toss and being sent in to bat on a green-top pitch, the Black Caps found themselves in trouble early when they lost the openers, Peter Fulton for 6 and Hamish Rutherford for 11.

However, New Zealand's top batsmen, Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor have steadied the ship, combining for an unbeaten 55 run partnership.

Taylor will resume on 32, while Williamson is on 21.
