Hull owner pushes on with Tigers name change

Hull City have formally applied to the English Football Association to change their name to Hull Tigers, in a move that's set to further anger the Premier League club's fans.

Hull owner Assem Allam believes the name change will enhance the club's commercial appeal - Allam's already changed the company name to Hull City Tigers, but he needs permission from the FA to change the club's playing name.

Fan group 'City Till We Die' have been protesting the owner's plans, and the 74-year-old Egypt-born businessman didn't help his cause by saying the protesters can die as soon as they want; as long as they leave the club for the majority who just want to watch good football.
