The banning of West Indies spinner Shane Shillingford for an illegal bowling action has come as a surprise to the side's coach Ottis Gibson.
Shillingford has been suspended after a biomechanical analysis conducted in Australia recently found his bowling action illegal.
It mean's he won't be able to play in the third test against New Zealand starting in Hamilton on Thursday.
Gibson says he was confident Shillingford would be cleared and the finding has hit the bowler hard.
Fellow West Indies off spinner Marlon Samuels was also tested and he has received a partial clearance.
The test found his standard off-break delivery was bowled with a legal action, but his quicker deliveries were bowled with a bent elbow, exceeding the 15 degrees' level of tolerance.
He's now not permitted to bowl his quicker deliveries.
Gibson says the pair will receive the full support of West Indies Cricket to rehabilitate their bowling actions.
