Winger re-signed after Glory sack coach

A day after sacking their coach Alistair Edwards following a player revolt, the Perth Glory football club have re-signed star Brazilian winger Sidnei for a further two A-League seasons.

Edwards was given his marching orders just one year into his three-season deal, skipper Jacob Burns and a host of other senior players becoming increasingly frustrated over Edwards' team selections - including a perceived nepotism towards his two sons Cameron and Ryan.

Chief executive Jason Brewer says the club have already started talks with people interested in becoming the interim coach, with an announcement expected to be made before Sunday's home clash with Adelaide.

Burns, who was an unused substitute in last week's 2-0 loss to Melbourne Victory, is set to skipper the side against Adelaide.

Edwards' two sons trained with the club on Tuesday, and Brewer hopes they will see out their contracts at the Glory despite the drama of their dad's sacking.
