Haddin heads home

9:55 am on 25 August 2009

The Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin is to return home from England to see specialists over the fractured right finger injury he has carried in the past two Ashes Test matches.

Haddin fractured the finger on his left hand before to the third Test at Edgbaston, but returned to play in the fourth and fifth Tests as Australia slumped to a 2-1 series defeat.

The wicketkeeper will return to Australia for further consultations and recovery before team management decide whether he will fly back to England for the remaining one-day and Twenty20 components of the tour.
