Officials show no mercy for Rogers

Cycling Australia says it wants no mercy for the respected road cyclist Michael Rogers if he is found guilty of doping.

The three-time world time trial champion and Olympic bronze medallist tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol at his last race of the season, the Japan Cup in October, and he's been provisionally suspended.

But Rogers denies deliberate doping, and he suspects a contaminated food source is behind the positive test.

He'd competed in China a week before his failed test, and cycling's world governing body and the World Anti Doping Agency have warned athletes to excercise caution in China when eating meat.
