Martin Guptill's also pushing hard to impress the selectors with a measured century for Auckland in their Plunket Shield clash with Northern Districts at Eden Park.

After the Knights declared on 461 for four, Guptill ended day two on 121 with Auckland 243 for four, trailing by 218.
