Fourth-placed Derby maintained their promotion charge with a 3-1 win at home to Doncaster while sixth-placed Reading suffered a setback as they went down 2-1 at home to Wigan.

Leeds moved ahead of Reading into fifth place, despite being held to a 0-0 draw in their Yorkshire derby with Barnsley at Elland Road.

All Whites captain Tommy Smith's Ipswich Town drew 1-1 at home to Watford.

Bolton and Charlton drew 1-1, while Brighton were held to a 0-0 draw by Huddersfield..
