Rising Croatian tennis player Ana Konjuh has been given a wildcard into the ASB Classic main draw.

The double junior Grand Slam champion, who turns 16 on Friday, has already represented Croatia at Fed Cup level.

She won both the singles and doubles titles at the Junior Australian Open this year and picked up her second junior Grand Slam at the US Open.

ASB Classic Tournament Director Karl Budge says Konjuh is a star in the making and organisers hope to build a strong relationship with the teenager and lure her back to New Zealand in future years to headline the tournament.

Qualifying for the ASB Classic begins on Saturday.
