Australia in tense battle for first innings advantage

The Australian opening batsman Chris Rogers reached 50 not out in Australia's first innings of 96-3 at tea on day two of the fourth Ashes cricket test at the MCG.

Mitchell Johnson took 3 for 4 from four overs in the morning session to finish with 5 for 63 in England's first innings of 255.

Australia had lost the wickets of David Warner (nine) and Shane Watson (10) before lunch.

England had resumed on 226 for 6.
