White Ferns coach resigns

The head coach of the New Zealand women's cricket team, Katrina Keenan, has resigned to spend more time with her family.

The former New Zealand fast bowler, who led the national women's side for just over a year, says the demands of the White Ferns role, including international travel, are too much with a young family.

New Zealand Cricket head of cricket operations Lindsay Crocker says he is disappointed Keenan isn't staying on, but respects her decision.

Crocker says Keenan made the decision now so a replacement can be found in time for the upcoming tour by the West Indies in late February and March, and the Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh starting in late March.
