Pakistan tighten grip on first test

9:16 am on 3 January 2014

The Sri Lankan cricketers are 186 for four in their second innings , a lead of seven runs after the third day of the first test against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi.

In the morning Pakistan lost their last six wickets for 54 to be all out for 383 and command a 179 run first innings lead

Meantime Pakistan are still to commit to the Twenty20 cricket World Cup in Bangladesh in March and will consult their government about sending a team due to the continuing political unrest in the host nation.

A Pakistan Cricket Board official says his organisation is concerned about the situation because many of the protests in Bangladesh were being aimed at his country.
