Monfils pulls out of NZ Open

The French tennis player Gael Monfils has pulled out of this week's New Zealand Tennis open suffering from fatigue.

The world number 31 was beaten by Rafael Nadal in Saturday's final of the Qatar Open and has decided to rest up before next week's Australian Open.

The withdrawl of the tournament's seventh seed means a lucky loser from qualifying will take Monfils' place in the Auckland draw.
