Captain's century leads Sri Lanka to massive lead over Black Caps

Kumar Sangakkara has made his third test century on day four as Sri Lanka has effectively batted New Zealand out of the second cricket test in Colombo.

Jeetan Patel claimed the captain's wicket for the Black Caps half an hour before lunch - Sangakkara was caught at slip by Ross Taylor on 109, and the Sri Lankans went to the break on 288 for 3.

That means New Zealand are already facing a seemingly insurmountable target of at least 470, more than the 413 they missed by almost 200 runs in the first test in Galle.
